If you'd like to hide the Favorite Links from the Navigation Pane of the Windows Vista Explorer so that you only have the Folders view in the Navigation Pane, you can accomplish this by mousing over the top edge of the Folders bar. When the vertical double arrows icon appears, you can click and drag the Folders bar up until it covers the Favorite Links.

After doing this, you can see that the Navigation Pane now only shows the Folders view. The Favorite Links section has been hidden behind the Folders view.
