Now that the CVSNTW server is set up and configured, let's try connecting to it. In EclipseSW, go to the CVSW Repository Exploring perspective.

Selecting CVS Repository Exploring perspective

Right-click the CVS Repositories view and go to New → Repository Location.

New Repository Location

I entered the connection information below. I specified the host where the CVSNT server is running, the repository path, the user name, and the connection type. In this example, I used pserver as the connection type. If you would like security for passwords travelling over your network, you should select a different connection type. I specified to 'Validate connection on finish' and 'Save Password'. The validation checks to be sure that you can actually connect to the repository. The 'Save Password' saves your password on your local machine so that you don't need to type it in each time you connect to the repository.

I clicked Finish.

Add CVS Repository

Our new CVSNT repository now appears in the CVS Repositories view in Eclipse. We can drill into it, and we see that we indeed have a valid CVS repository that we can access in Eclipse.

If you have problems with CVSNT, I recommend fiddling with the various options on the Server Settings and Compatibility Options tabs.
